Hi Silvio
Can you shoot me an email? support@jaredwolff.com

Hi,
I’m glad I was useful to you. Now I ask you for a courtesy. I bought a Feather 9160 and I would like to use it as a device to send SMS when the accelerometer of the card notices, within a certain threshold, the movement of the card itself. I use Keil and a J-Link. I don’t use Zephyr because I have to develop quickly and I should start studying it, I don’t have the time. I also use Segger Embedded Studio but I don’t understand how to interface with your sources. Can you tell me the steps please? Consider that I should use a personal Vodafone M2M or Voice & Data SIM card in Italy. Thank you if you can help me shortly.
Silvio
babos the install instructions have changed a bunch since V1. It’s fairly easy/straightforward if you’re on Windows/Mac and you use Toolchain Manager (Part of nRF Connect Desktop App).
With that said, did you already use Toolchain Manager? You should be able to add nfed
to the west.yml
in nrf
as per my instructions (Scroll down to step 9.)
“The Ultimate Guide to Particle Gen 3”
What is this threads title about? Is there a new guide? Is nRF1960 Feather III released?
Silvio, set aside Keil, it’s not needed in the world of Zephyr, in fact it will slow down your learning curve.
The nRF9160 Feather is a great starting point with the ability to be battery operated and used in the field, use the docs to walk thru the examples, you already have a Jlink device and have used the Segger SES tools so this should be ‘easy’ for you. Just use the nRF version of Segger SES, in a day or so you’ll catch on. Hope your git foo is up to speed, you’ll need it.
K2AAE What is this threads title about? Is there a new guide? Is nRF1960 Feather III released?
The guide was prior to the nRF9160 Feather. Particle deprecated Mesh but it’s still useful for folks using their Wifi and Cellular models. I’m all in on the nRF91 now. No going back.

DA! I should really spend more time READING before posting…
At any rate that got me thinking about moving what I worked out for the Adafruit RP2040 feather to the nRF9160 feather
POGO PIN
For version 3

Version 2, not so much

Just too close to the edge..
K2AAE Nice!!
POGO PIN The nRF9160 feather plugs into the pogo shield after you attach your jlink to the 10 pin connector. The TC2030 pattern does not need holes making it easier to place anywhere on the bottom of the PCB. The pogo pins are soldered and potted. and the SWD connector is one I found that can be hand soldered.
I tried to edit the above but I do not have permission to save the edit…
Quick 3D pogo pin (with the link done right)
Nice! It’s basically a nice little programming jig for the nRF9160 Feather! Cheaper than diddling around with a tag connect for sure.
I can’t tell though, are you using the SWD pads on top or the ones on the bottom?
